Don’t Stand So Close To Me

Really all that was left to be done was the moving in of furniture , most of which Blake hadn’t created yet, and the incidentals. Finishing up digging post holes for the garden fence, making sure all the doors and windows opened, hanging the shutters. This went so much quicker when you had some idea what you were doing. Tiffany shrugged, which apparently caught Kennedy’s attention.

A Man Ain’t Made Of Stone

Tate stepped nervously into the parlor. Not so very long ago it had just been that, a parlor. One he occasionally helped dust when Master Gray was busy. Now it was, more or less, the counsel chamber. All of the big decisions made about the future of Shadowcrest were made in this room, with the same desk chair that had been here as long as he could remember coming, serving as a throne for his king. That somehow didn’t seem right, thrones were supposed to be impressive, special. Only kings were supposed to have sat in the throne. Tate himself had sat in that chair himself, and more than once.

Call and Answer

A wise man, it was said, knows that he knows very little. He does not claim wisdom for himself, rather others believe him to be wise. Well, Lock couldn’t say that he was wise, he didn’t even know if anyone else would grant him that title. He did, however, know a few things. The first one was that he didn’t know the first thing about being King. He had never intended to rule, had never even wanted to rule, and if someone else had volunteered for the job, he would have given it up without a word of complaint.
